We offer a space for our clients to ground themselves within a natural setting, using five acres of woods and a trail system to encourage walking, talking, and creative exploration. This space is totally unplugged — there is no hydro. There is no Wi-Fi. You will be able to focus and immerse yourself in a therapeutic experience, distraction-free.
It is believed that a cow’s warmer body temperature, slower heartbeat, and large size can make hugging them a human stress reducer by elevating oxytocin, the hormone released in social bonding. At Purposefully Unplugged, psychotherapy and cow hugging in a natural environment are interconnected. You won’t think of yesterday or tomorrow when hugging a cow.
My area of focus includes those who have experienced trauma. I work flexibly with all age groups, including children and youth. Shifting your path along a healing journey may come with mixed emotions. My goal is to help you celebrate your strengths and explore strategies that best support your success.
As you drive to meet us, you will notice several local barns that have quilt blocks attached to the side. Our quilt block is a Rainbow Star. This is Purposefully Unplugged’s version of a rainbow flag. All are welcome and all discussions are engaged. Diversity of identity, choice, and relationship is vital and respected.
